From 57 to 93 on Mobile: A Speed-Optimized Website Build for a Manufacturer
Case Study Summary
- Industry: Manufacturing / Custom Rubber Molding
- Business type: B2B custom parts manufacturer
- Project type: Website build with post-live speed optimization
- Platform: WordPress + Elementor
- Services: Website Design & Development, Technical Support
Fenlora Groups, a custom rubber molding manufacturer in City of Industry, California, hired Pronto to replace its template site with a custom WordPress build targeting a 90+ PageSpeed score. At launch, mobile performance was still at 57, so Pronto restructured the mobile layout and tuned how the page loads. The post-live optimization raised mobile PageSpeed to 93, while desktop held at 92, bringing both devices above the project’s performance standard soon after launch.
Background
Fenlora Groups is based in City of Industry, California and serves a global clientele. The company produces compression, transfer, and injection molded parts for automotive, electronics, medical, and home-product companies, with US-based engineering support behind every order.
In August 2025, Fenlora hired Pronto for a custom website build with ongoing Technical Support, and the new site launched a few months later in December. After launch, every Pronto build goes through a post-live optimization phase, where the team measures the site’s real-world performance and tunes it until it meets its targets. Fenlora’s speed optimization was carried out as part of that process.
The video banner running on the desktop homepage. Elements like this gave the site its polish, and are exactly what phones struggle with.
Three constraints shaped the work:
- A bar above the usual. A 90+ mobile score is a high standard for any content-rich business site, and the client made it an acceptance criterion rather than a wish.
- A design that earns its weight. The slider, video banner, and animations all sell precision manufacturing; each one also costs loading time on phones.
- Inevitable trade-offs. The agreement acknowledged that hitting these scores could require compromises. The job was picking the ones a buyer would never notice.
Rearranging the page for mobile
All of this happened on the live site, in the weeks after launch. Rather than stripping the design, the team made targeted compromises to it: the banner slider moved away from the top of the page, the video banner came off the phone layout entirely, and auto-playing video was turned off. Mobile visitors now get content first, while desktop keeps the full experience.
Tuning how the page loads
Banner images were reworked to load first and faster, the page’s underlying code was cleaned up and streamlined, and non-essential scripts now wait until the page is ready before they run. Fonts are preloaded so text appears without delay, phones receive phone-sized images instead of desktop ones, and heavy visual effects on mobile, including sticky elements, motion transitions, and scroll effects, were switched off.
Keeping it fast
Performance work doesn’t end at handoff. Under the Technical Support plan, the site receives regular plugin, theme, and WordPress core updates along with proactive monitoring, so the foundation under those scores stays secure and stable as the business puts the site to work.
The optimization wrapped in the first week of January 2026, and the mobile score cleared the client’s bar on the first full round of testing.
BEFORE VS. AFTER
Performance score | Before | After | Change |
Mobile | 57 | 93 | +36 |
Desktop | 92 | 92 | Held above 90 |
Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO scored between 90 and 100 on both desktop and mobile in the same tests.
⚠️ How these numbers work
A PageSpeed score is a snapshot, not a permanent property of a website. Scores fluctuate between test runs and shift as content is added over time, so the team validates results with repeated tests and revisits performance as part of maintaining the site.
The Impact
Fenlora set a performance bar above the industry standard and got it, without giving up the rich design that sells their engineering. The site still opens with the visuals a buyer expects from a precision manufacturer; it simply delivers them in the right order for each device.
Buyers researching suppliers from a phone got the experience the client asked for in writing, and the same playbook that hit the target the first time is what the team returns to as the site grows and changes.
“We asked for a 90-plus speed score as part of our acceptance criteria, and the team delivered it. The new site looks the way our products deserve and loads the way our buyers expect.”
