Frequently Asked Questions

Do you build websites to pass accessibility standards?

Yes. We build all websites to conform to the globally accepted WCAG 2.1 guidelines, which also serve as the standard for ADA compliance.

Our development process strictly adheres to the four core principles of accessibility (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust) through the following practices:

  • Keyboard Accessibility: Ensuring all interactive elements can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard.
  • Semantic Structure: Using correct HTML (<h1> through <h6>, <nav>, <main>) to establish a clear content hierarchy for screen readers.
  • Color Contrast: Maintaining a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for all text against its background for maximum readability.
  • Text Alternatives: Providing accurate, descriptive Alt Text for all images and non-text elements.
  • Form Usability: Linking clear labels to all form fields and providing useful, specific error messages.
  • Responsive Design: Guaranteeing content reflows and can be zoomed up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
  • Focus Indicators: Implementing clear visual cues when elements are selected or in focus.
  • Important Note: Compliance relies on proper color contrast and features. The only time a website may not fully pass accessibility standards is if specific brand colors violate the required contrast ratios, or if non-accessible features are used, even after we have advised against them.
