AddPipe + WordPress Case Study: Developing a No-Login, No-Download Video Feedback Page

The Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center (HSDC), a Seattle-based nonprofit, wanted to make it easier for clients of their Interpreting Services division to share feedback after appointments, whether through written comments or American Sign Language (ASL) video recordings.

HSDC’s Director of Interpreting Services, Gina Gallaway, envisioned a private web page that clients could access only via a QR code. This page needed to include clear instructions, a form for written feedback, and, most importantly, a way for users to record and submit ASL videos directly from their browsers without having to log in, download apps, or upload files manually.

“We wanted this to be as easy as possible for people to quickly leave feedback with no hassle.”
— Gina Gallaway, Director of Interpreting Services and Senior Director of Operations

The Challenge: No Download nor Upload Needed

While the concept was straightforward, the execution was highly technical.

HSDC’s website didn’t have any out-of-the-box capability for browser-based video recording. The team needed a seamless experience that:

  • Allowed visitors to record videos directly from their phones or desktops
  • Uploaded files automatically to a secure private folder
  • Required no login or special app download
  • Could be accessed only via QR code
  • Met strict accessibility and privacy requirements

Because this involved front-end form development, third-party API integration, and coordination with the client’s IT provider (Fidelis, Inc.), it required cross-team collaboration between Pronto’s Website Support team and the client’s internal technical support.

The Solution: Implementing AddPipe with WordPress and Gravity Forms

Pronto’s Website Support specialists took the lead on research and implementation.

Tools used

  • WordPress
  • Elementor
  • Gravity Forms
  • AddPipe
  • SharePoint

Here’s how the process unfolded:

1. Scoping and Planning

Our WordPress Support specialists confirmed the page requirements with HSDC’s team and coordinated directly with their IT provider to evaluate secure hosting options.

2. Testing Recording Tools

After researching several solutions, the team identified AddPipe — a browser-based video recording plugin — as the best fit. It allowed users to record, preview, and submit videos directly from a webpage without any uploads or installations.

Our developers tested AddPipe in a staging environment, ensuring that it integrated correctly with HSDC’s existing form setup and met accessibility standards.

3. Collaboration with 3rd Party IT Partner

Once AddPipe was approved, HSDC’s IT support provider, Fidelis, set up the account, API credentials, and a secure SharePoint folder to receive the recorded videos.

This ensured all submissions remained private and accessible only to the HSDC team.

4. Building the Private Page

The page was designed to be accessible via QR code — keeping it off navigation menus and search results.

The page includes:

  • A short video in ASL explaining the feedback process
  • Written instructions for text-based submissions
  • A Pipe-powered video recorder
  • A text comment box and form submission button
  • Automatic uploads to HSDC’s secure folder

The Result: An Easy to use Video Feedback Tool

After testing, small adjustments, and an updated ASL instruction video, the new Feedback Page went live in October 2025.

HSDC’s internal team was thrilled with the functionality and accessibility.

“Excellent experience. Surpassed expectations.”
— Buddy Elledge, Graphic Designer & Social Media Connector

Now, clients can instantly record feedback through their device’s camera, and submissions automatically sync to HSDC’s secure SharePoint — eliminating manual uploads and ensuring privacy.

The project demonstrated how Website Support services can go far beyond text edits or plugin updates — tackling complex, real-world functionality that improves accessibility and inclusivity.
